Frequently asked questions

What can I do if a client does not pay my invoice?
In EU B2B transactions, if no payment date is agreed, interest falls due 30 calendar days after the invoice is received — Directive 2011/7/EU Art. 3(3)(b)(i), as of 2013. It is the reference rate plus at least 8 percentage points — Directive 2011/7/EU Art. 2(6), as of 2013. You are also entitled to at least EUR 40 as a flat sum for recovery costs — Directive 2011/7/EU Art. 6(1), as of 2013.
Could my freelance contract be treated as employment?
That risk exists. In Germany, work bound by instructions, externally determined and done in personal dependence counts as an employment contract — BGB § 611a Abs. 1, as of 2017. In Portugal, certain statutory indicia lead to a presumption of an employment relationship — Código do Trabalho art. 12.º, n.º 1, as of 2009. The document therefore contains its own section on independence.
How long can the payment term be at most?
Between businesses in the EU, a contractual payment period may not exceed 60 calendar days unless expressly agreed and not grossly unfair to the creditor — Directive 2011/7/EU Art. 3(5), as of 2013. In France, the default term without an agreement is 30 days — Code de commerce art. L441-10, I, as of 2019.
What does the freelance agreement cover?
The document is divided into these sections: § 1 Services, Term and Place of Work; § 2 Remuneration; § 3 Independence; § 4 Governing Law, Language and Signatures.
Is this legal advice?
No. The information here is general, and the product is a document generator. For your specific case, you should consult a lawyer.

Why DUOLEXX instead of just asking an AI?

An AI writes text fast. That doesn't make it legally sound, bilingual and ready to sign. That's exactly the difference.

Grounded in local law

Every document follows the law of the chosen country — researched clauses, not a generic template from the web.

Authoritative language + translation

The binding version in the legal language, alongside an understandable translation. A chat rarely delivers both, soundly, at once.

Verifiable signature

Two-party signature with a SHA-256 integrity proof — provable that both signed the same wording.

Finished, not just text

PDF, signature, archive and share link in one flow — an AI chat only hands back raw text.
